Greenwood Inc. Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure Dear Valued Customer/Supplier: Greenwood, Inc. is committed to making the date transition to the Year 2000 as smooth as possible and has been taking steps since early 1997 to minimize the risk of any potential business interruption. This "Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure" provides an update as to the status of our comprehensive Y2K Compliance Plan. Our approach includes a four-phase program that encompasses the following initiatives:
The following is a status report of our progress with our key Year 2000 compliance initiatives (please see Note below):
Major Business Systems: All corporate information systems have been identified, tested, and upgraded if necessary. All indications thus far are that the applications are running correctly with Year 2000 compliant versions of software. These systems include all financial, sales/order entry, purchasing/procurement, product manufacturing, inventory management, and logistics modules. These systems will continue to be monitored for any new, unforeseen issues that may arise.
Information Systems Infrastructure: We have tentatively completed our evaluation and upgrade of our existing information systems infrastructure. Areas that have been addressed are our PC workstations, application & database servers, local area network (LAN) hardware, wide area network (WAN) hardware, network operating software, PC operating software, and office application software. These systems will continue to be monitored for any new, unforeseen issues that may arise.
Manufacturing Operations and Facilities: We are over 80% complete with our facility evaluations for compliance with respect to process control equipment, analytical equipment, quality systems, HVAC systems, security systems, and material handling systems. No significant issues have been identified to date, and our target completion date is April 1999.
Major Suppliers and Subcontractors: We are currently surveying our key supply chain business partners. Areas under assessment include key raw material suppliers, process control equipment providers, and key service providers (utility companies, telecom providers, waste management companies, and transportation companies). Target completion date is June 1999. At this time, we feel we have identified all of our major Year 2000 software, hardware, and business-related issues and have addressed, or are in the process of completing, the implementations that will make us Year 2000 compliant. As with any project which relies on numerous resources outside of our direct control, there may be issues that we are unaware of or are unable to address in a timely manner. We feel we have and will continue to take prudent and reasonable actions to address any foreseeable Year 2000 compliance issues that could cause potential external or internal operational disruptions to our business and/or customers.
